Long run likely aborted this weekend

I drove to NC yesterday evening and intended to get up and run this morning. Unfortunately, the mexican food we ate for dinner last night saw to it that it didn’t happen.

Now it’s ridiculously hot and humid with severe thunderstorms on the way. No biggie, I just planned to get up early tomorrow and run.

Well, now most of our friends from the neighborhood are coming over tonight, and being as it’s our last weekend in the neighborhood I expect celebration with many adult libations to ensue. Meaning, I likely won’t get up early to run before I have to leave at 9:30 am to go meet my parents in Virginia so they can take my dogs.

You know, I’m not even sorry. Last weekend in town only happens once. Will try to get a few longish runs in this week and then do a longer run next weekend (which is the weekend of my 20th high school reunion, but I’ll figure it out).

I’m choosing to give myself a break rather than beat myself up over not running this weekend. I can still do this. I know I can.
