About Me

I am a 38-year-old pharmacist, married for 14 years, with 7 children of the 4-legged furry variety (5 cats, 2 dogs). I started cycling in 2004 and running in 2010. Somewhere along the line I fell in love with running. I never thought that would happen in a million years.

I’ve completed 3 half marathons and 1 marathon. Not sure if the original plan of IM 2014 will happen at this point, but not going to rule anything out. I plan to run 13 half marathons in 2013 and just enjoy the experiences while I do  it.

Tumblr has been this amazing space over the past several months. I’m not even sure how to express what I have gained from having this space. I’m always amazed that people follow my blog. My posts are often random. Sometimes about running, sometimes about my cats and dogs, but mostly just about my life and random thoughts in general.

Another detail of my life -  I have type 1 diabetes, treated with the best invention ever, the insulin pump. I almost didn’t mention this because I don’t let it define me, but if someone else is inspired by  what I have already done (and plan to do in the future) while living with this disease all the better.
